Q2: What is the vision behind Hot or Not?

Our vision at Hot or Not is bold and transformative. We aim to revolutionize the social media landscape by promoting an equitable and democratic ecosystem that champions freedom of expression and resists the influence of Big Tech. Q3: What is the traction on the Hot or Not platform?

The Hot or Not project, initially called "GoBazzinga," originally started in June 2021. Prior to building on-chain, we validated the idea and marketed it twice between June 2021 and December 2021. First, we used a photo-based prototype, and then a short-video MVP built on Google Cloud Services. Both of these MVPs received significant traction in a short period of time with zero marketing spend. This provided much-needed validation for the user need and the market that the project is targeting.

After receiving sufficient validation, the first single-canister blockchain-based version of Hot or Not (previously GoBazzinga) was launched in April 2022. This iteration garnered more than 8,000 users in 6 months before being taken down.

During these 6 months, numerous user interviews were conducted at different points in time to gain feedback on how the platform and offering could be improved. This allowed us to serve the users’ needs in a more comprehensive and efficient manner. This knowledge formed the basis of the final iteration of the product, Hot or Not in its current avatar.

Hot or Not has witnessed significant growth since its launch in October 2022. Our platform has successfully attracted over 56,500 users, demonstrating a remarkable month-on-month growth rate of approximately 60%. Between On average, our users spend 16 minutes 35 seconds on the platform (in the 15-day period from 28 April 2023 to 13 May 2023).

Our users have actively embraced the platform, showcasing their creativity in over 22,800 captivating videos. Additionally, the Hot or Not Game has witnessed an astounding 863,000+ votes since its launch in April 2023, experiencing a remarkable week-on-week growth rate of 136%.
